Wheat_Bran(The best food for Lowering_Cholesterol)
It is the outer layer of wheat and popularly known as Choker or Bhusa in hindi.
Previously,it was used to be obtained from Aata/Wheat powder after sieving and used to be thrown out or given as cow feed. But now this is found to have a great value as human food.
It is rich in dietary fiber, minerals, antioxidants, lignins and other phytochemicals.
-Wheat bran consists of about 40% fiber. This fiber binds with cholesterol present in the bile acid and stop its re-absorption. This lowers cholesterol level in the blood and help heart patients.
-The fiber present in the Wheat bran slow down the absorption of sugar in the intestines and thus help in much better control of diabetes.
-Wheat bran is high in volume and fills up the stomach thus stops hunger. Like this,it helps in weight reduction.
